Is Snopes liberal and in the tank for Obama?

Lie Pie Title:   Is Snopes liberal and in the tank for Obama?
Lie Pie Classification:   diet lie pie, election lie pie

Editor's Note:  Years ago when I first visited Snopes.com, one of the things that impressed me was that the proprietors went out of their way to make it understood that the site was a collection of "urban legends reference pages" and not an ultimate authority.  I appreciate humility when I see it.  I also recognize their commitment to transparency--they always provide citations and documentation right along with their analysis.  I've spent a great deal of time investigating their citations, and over the years they have earned my trust.

I find that there is rarely a hair's difference between the conclusions of Snopes.com, Factcheck.org, UrbanLegends.about.com and TruthOrFiction.com.  Collectively, they are a very powerful force for ferreting out the truth.  Each one is listed on my "Lie Pie Quick Check" page because I don't want any of you to ever rely exclusively on any single source for your information.  Don't you blindy trust ANY information source, honey.  Nobody deserves that much power.

If you don't believe what your old Granny says about Snopes, you can check out what TruthOrFiction.com has to say.  --Granny

Check Snopes -out. Well well, lookie, lookie...I knew some things they were saying seemed out of whack with the facts...Beginning to understand why now...Sooooooo be careful when you go there... I have suspected some problems with snopes for some time now, but I have only caught them in half-truths. If there is any subjectivity they do an immediate full left rudder.

Truth or fiction.com is the better source for verification, in my opinion.

I have recently discovered that Snopes.com is owned by a flaming liberal and this man is in the tank for Obama. There are many things they have listed on their site as a hoax and yet you can go to Youtube yourself and find the video of Obama actually saying these things. So you see, you cannot and should not trust Snopes.com....ever for anything that remotely resembles truth! I don't even trust them to tell me if email chains are hoaxes anymore.

A few conservative speakers on Myspace told me about snopes.com a few months ago and I took it upon myself to do a little research to find out if it was true. Well, I found out for myself that it is true. This website is backing Obama and is covering up for him. They will say anything that makes him look bad is a hoax and they also tell lies on the other side about McCain and Palin.
