Editor's Note:  Here's another one that isn't true, but unfortunately is successful because it enrages all those good folks who tend to have a persecution complex when it comes to the phrase "In God We Trust."  Apparently this coin series was mandated by the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005, and it ordered "In God We Trust" to be inscribed on the edge of the coin.

Now, if you want to have a discussion about whether "In God We Trust" should be on the face or the side of a coin, let's have that discussion.  Why start out by lying about the phrase being removed altogether, and go even further in other viral variations by declaring it evidence a conspiracy is afoot to phase God out of America?  Whoever wrote this one is a little unhinged, and people of faith would do well to avoid folks who enjoy inciting misplaced outrage.  I despise these no-goods who prey on and exploit the religious convictions of others.

It might be time for everyone to read up on the history of the phrase, "In God We Trust" and find out how and when it ended up on our currency.  Looks like it didn't appear on any U.S. currency until 1864. A visit to the U.S. Treasury's website is in order!   --Granny, 1/31/09

Please help do this... refuse to accept these when they are handed back to you. I received one from the Post Office as change and I asked for a dollar bill instead..the lady just smiled and said way to go,so she had read this e-mail...please help out.
