Lie Pie Title: ACLU to remove cross-shaped headstones and end prayer in the military Editor's Note: Good Lord, honey. There just ain't a grain of truth to this one. You can see for yourself at FactCheck.org, TruthorFiction.com, Snopes.com, and UrbanLegends.about.com. I just don't understand this obsession with the ACLU. If they are as bad as everyone says they are, why lie about their misdeeds? Lots of folks point to the ACLU as somehow representative of everything wrong with America, but those same folks will run crying to the ACLU for help when they think their civil rights are being infringed upon. Case in point: Jerry Falwell always made no secret of his contempt for the ACLU, and even went so far as to blame them (and a few others) for the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Then in 2002 he welcomed help from the ACLU when he fought and won a lawsuit in a Virginia federal court. Does anyone else see the hypocrisy in that? Fact is, the ACLU will represent a Christian just as quick as they'll represent a follower of the Flying Spaghetti Monster if they see civil liberties being trampled upon. When your rights are violated and you don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on lawyers to help you fight for your rights in court, I'll bet that you can give the ACLU a call and they'll be there for you. Just bear in mind that, like it or not, folks who worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster have the same rights you do. And, pardon me, but I don't need prayer advice from a liar. They're making great progress. The Navy Chaplains can no longer mention Jesus' name in prayer thanks to the wretched ACLU and our new administration. I'm not breaking this one.
