Welcome, Patriots! LiePie.com has dedicated this spot to helping you turn your patriotism into heroic action. Engage in the American struggle for truth, liberty and justice! This country belongs to all of us, and it's our responsibility to keep it on the right track. America's best days are yet to come as long as we all stick together and fight our way through the tough patches. Learn how to spot B.S, vote, holler, and show up for a march on Washington! Write letters to the Congress and even to the President! Your granny may be old, but I'm awful mean and honey, I can pitch a floppin' fit! First things first:
- Register to vote if you aren't registered. Project Vote Smart or Vote411.org
- If you believe you are registered to vote, better make sure! Double check at election time in case there is any monkey business going on! Project Vote Smart or Vote411.org.
- Get information on all the candidates on your ballot at SmartVoter.org.
- If you see any tomfoolery on election day or encounter problems casting your vote, call 1-866-OUR-VOTE or visit 866OurVote.com.
- Call and email your senators and representative often. Tell them what's important to you. Let them know you're watching what they're doing. Always be respectful, honey--don't you act fresh and embarrass your granny. Identify and contact your senators and/or representative.
- Something stuck in your craw? Maybe you just want to offer up a kind word. You can tell the President what's on your mind! Contact the President.
Granny has some more advice if you'll let me bend your ear a bit:
- Make sure you know both sides of the issues so you don't sound like a jackass. Even Old King Solomon didn't judge until after the second man got a turn to speak.
- Talkers on TV and radio earn a real nice paycheck when they get lots of ratings. Honey, you better believe that these jet-setting talkers with good ratings have contempt for regular folks, and every last one of them would recoil in horror if you tried to invite them to your house for dinner. You just remember that good looks and fancy clothes don't make someone smarter than you. I agree with our Founding Fathers that you are perfectly capable of thinking for yourself, honey. Don't place your trust in these out-of-touch TV and radio talkers who live in mansions, sleep in silk britches, and don't know what it's like to break a sweat unless they are on a treadmill in an air-conditioned gym.
- There is nothing worse than a lazy, thick-headed blame shifter. When problems are full of burrs and snarls, nothing short of hard work and smarts can fix them. Folks only interested in propping up scapegoats aren't worth your love or your money. Don't you vote for folks who spend their time pointing fingers instead of proposing solutions.
- Be on the lookout for vote robbers and election cheats. These are the slimiest of all traitors. Granny is sorry to say it but that's just the way it is. Some of these lie pies floating around have been crafted by these turncoats who aren't fit to kiss a hog. Don't you let NOBODY lie to you about NOTHING around election time.
And, last but not least, support our men and women in uniform and our veterans. When you see a veteran, especially an injured veteran, say thank you and ask for the honor of introducing your children. Your kids need to know what a real hero looks like. You find out what issues are important to veterans, and you call your senators and representative on their behalf and raise some Cain if need be. Our veterans fought for us and we need to fight for them. This nonsense of soldiers and veterans living in filth and being mistreated is a disgrace. We need to put a stop to it right now.
Honey, democracy ain't a spectator sport. Everyday-people-haters, plutocrats and plunderers thrive when you aren't paying careful attention and swallow their B.S. You keep an eye on your elected officials 24/7/365, and don't you fall for these lying 30-second ads they bombard you with a week out from the election. You do your nation proud and make your vote on election day one that is thoughtful, informed, street-smart, and deserving of all the blood that has been shed on behalf of freedom. Vote, patriots!
